Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord will fight for you and you will only be silent.”
Oh, how it would be liberating to let people have it. Shouting out all kinds of insults, just giving into anger. Telling people what you really think about them, especially if they piss your off. Our lips can easily be a loose canon, under the heat of anger. Its a loose furnace, ready to spit fire on anyone who comes against us. The delicious and desires of anger, can be a force unlike anything.
Would it be the driver cutting you off in traffic, the barista taking forever with your order, long lines, the copy machine consistently shutting down, let your boss or coworkers finally have it, etc. Many of life’s daunting situations, which justifies giving into the temptation of anger.
Feels good at the moment until it backfires. Karma is real! You’ve lost your sense of peace. I’d say, deep in your gut, you may even feel remorseful, uncomfortable. Because your conscious is telling you want you let loose wasn’t right. It’s call the touch of God. When you seek to honor and obey God, your spirit is now sensitize to your actions.
Why not take this approach? Let God fight your battles. Our Father, God has the capabilities to defeat the enemy, all we need to be is silent. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Nope, but the Holy Spirit is your guide.
Psalm 46:10 says”Be still and Know I am God.”
We do not know Gods plan for the battle, but as scripture says he’s the Protector and Deliverer. Set your mind, body, and spirit at rest, while God will fight your battles. Turn to him, he’s listening. God knows what you need. Prayer is your first line of defense!
Theres is no weapon or battle formed, that we cannot not win. When we step into the armor of God, victory is not far behind. In the silence, we are in the battle grounds, building battle strategies, it’s called prayer. God, you say you are our Protector. Thank you for your hedge of protection this week and for the weeks to come. In Jesus mighty name!
