Why Do I Blog? To Be Followed or To Follow Him?

This is the purpose of my passion to write. Sometimes it can be a distraction, so focused on increasing my followers. But what my purpose for writing is what God has called me to do. I don’t want to lose sight of that. This post just aligns with what God has been telling me. Checkout the rest of her blog, you’ll be blessed! 🙂💛

Real Christian Women

Corrie ten Boom said, “If God has called you, do not spend time looking over your shoulder to see who is following you.” And she is someone whose advice I respect.

So why do we blog? Why do we write? As Christian writers, we say it’s to tell people about the Lord Jesus Christ and His love. But we must be careful that our ultimate desire is to follow Him, not to be followed. He will guide us by His Word.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.” Psalms 119:105 NIV

This is especially true for those of us who want people to follow our blog, FaceBook, or Instagram. Although we are encouraged when readers decide to follow us, that cannot be our guiding force.

#FOWC: Guide

The power of love can bring you confidence to be yourself. The real you is in there. Enjoy this post and checkout the other poems. She is great!

All About Life

You found me, the real me, hidden behind the face I showed to the world

You listened. You held me when I was afraid. You helped me explore

Those fears which caused me to live behind the high barricade

You showed me my beauty which I could never before see

You taught me to laugh at the flaws I’d thought so dire

You showed me my strength and my tender heart

You taught me to work and take pride in it all

With you I laughed, I cried, I truly felt

Love and loved. For you, only you

Were my guide but I lost you

On the path we took

Together. To

Written,  once again,  as response to a one word prompt from Fandango who has definitely sparked something in my imagination.

All About Life

She sat in the back of the tiny boat and watched the face of the ferryman as he rowed her to the shore. It was completely blank but shadows played across it as the light began to dim. She was desperate for reassurance but the ferryman did not speak. In the distance she could see a figure on the opposite bank, dressed all in black; he was waiting for her….

Her fear mounted as she imagined the bottomless, black depths of the sea beneath the boat and she focused her rigid gaze on her waiting host, still standing, but now with hand outstretched. His face hidden by a black hood, she could see only his fingers, white in the moonlight, reaching for her hand.

As the boat came to a gentle stop she paid the ferryman, who took the coins without a word, and took the hand of the one…
